Tucson Chapter Lunch Meeting:
Mosaic Quarter Project – From a GC’s Perspective
Hensel Phelps will be presenting on the ongoing construction of the Mosaic Quarter project at the Kino South Sports Complex in Tucson. Phase I of this new development includes a 175,000 square-foot 3-rink Iceplex, future home of the University of Arizona Hockey, and a 131,000 square-foot 2-story Field House with interchangeable playing surfaces, and a central utility plant. This presentation will focus on the project from the general contractor’s perspective, highlighting how structural design has influenced construction planning and execution. Key topics will include coordination challenges, sequencing of structural work, and lessons learned from field conditions, including unexpected issues encountered during construction.
