April Joint Central and Tucson Chapter Virtual Meeting:

AISC Marketplace Conditions for 2021 and Beyond

The nation is on the cusp of putting this pandemic in the rear view mirror, and more vaccines and an effort to open all aspects of the economy will inevitably affect the design and construction industry. With so many recent changes, the forecast from a few months ago is completely different from the path that lies ahead. We are all experiencing the international and domestic pandemic of COVID-19 in different ways and dealing with the challenges of our perceptions and realities. Realizing this experience is unlike any past construction disruption is essential to moving forward and realizing the opportunities at hand. Let's pause to understand how today's downturn differs from the great recession in 2008. This presentation curates the viewpoints and opinions of the many construction experts in the marketplace who are speaking on the future opportunities for construction ahead in 2021 and beyond.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of the current dynamics impacting the construction marketplace
  • Discuss the timing, depth and rate of recovery of the current recession
  • Identify key indicators for tracking marketplace recovery
  • Speculate on systemic changes in the marketplace impacting the mix of building types
